According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva is the Destroyer and easily the most important one of the Trinity. Lord Shiva has three eyes and ash smeared all over his body.
There are a lot of stories surrounding this figure and Shiva for those who do not know refers to both Adiyogi and “that which is not.” To call someone a yogi means that that person has experienced the life of himself.
Shiva is responsible for change both in the form of death and destruction and in the positive sense of destroying the ego.
Shiva has many forms. Lord Shiva is conceived in his unborn, invisible form as the Shiva Lingam. The Lingam represents the male creative energy of Shiva.
This main symbol of Shiva is worshipped in virtually every Hindu temple and home. And with 2018 being the year of Shiva, you can be expecting a lot of destruction and change in more ways than imaginable.
Lord Shiva brings about a lot of things we are often afraid of that it is all done in the sense of growth. Shiva symbolizes consciousness. Shiva is a masculine energy and is symbolized by the sun.
If we are operating merely from our masculine side we feel more tired and stressed. There must be balance between masculine and feminine. Shiva and Shakti must be working together in synch.
Throughout this year, you need to be working more to bring about this balance and ensure that your feminine energy is matching your masculine energy so that chaos does not arise.
This can be done through deep meditation and is not something we should forget to do. Let yourself breathe and allow these energies to heal you from within. Just a few minutes a day is all you need.
While this all may seem a bit overwhelming, there is more to come than you could ever imagine.
This year is going to be one wild ride. Prepare yourself and remember that everything happens for a reason. There is a great purpose in all your experience, this meaning so far and everything to come.
